Reviewing Proposed CMS Minimum Staffing Standards for Long-Term Care Facilities
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) recently released its highly anticipated Minimum Staffing Standards for Long-Term Care Facilities and Medicaid Institutional Payment Transparency Reporting proposed rule. The rule seeks to establish minimum staffing requirements nationally for the first time. It also includes proposals to increase the transparency of Medicaid payments for services in nursing facilities and intermediate care facilities for individuals with intellectual disabilities.
