On April 29, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released a final rule extending the Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement (CJR) model by three additional years for mandatory participants and modifying several aspects of the model, including:

  • Adding outpatient joint replacement procedures to the model
  • Updating the target price methodology
  • Reducing the discount for high quality participants
  • Changing the reconciliation process
