Remote Surveillance

Rethink How You Deploy Infection Preventionists

How it Works

Our Infection Prevention (IP) Clinical Consultants remotely review electronic health record (EHR) data and TheraDoc® (or other clinical surveillance application) to identify and document potential hospital-acquired infections (HAIs). After a collaborative assessment, our Clinical Consultants will work to determine the needs and scope of remote activities.

Surveillance Activities

  • Review and triage HAI surveillance data.

  • Detailed chart review.

  • Weekly review with onsite IPs to review infections and trends.

  • Provide a daily notification of significant surveillance findings that require prompt action.

  • Preliminary documentation of HAIs for National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) upload.

What You Can Expect

  • Access an experienced IP consultant.

  • Help eliminate the burden of data review.

  • Enable IPs to get out of the office and into clinical areas.

  • Augment staff and “bridge” staff shortages.

  • Help empower IPs to act “more timely” on data.

  • Professional mentorship to new or inexperienced IPs.

  • Help lower infection rates yielding lower LOS, mortality rates and readmission.

“The PINC AI™ clinical consultant was able to act as a surveillance mentor to novice infection preventionsits which allowed us to standardize our surveillance processes and ultimately make our program stronger.”
